![]() ![]() I've tried using both waveout and directsound but both have the same distortion problem when I set less than 128 samples. ![]() I'm wondering if this is a problem of reaver? Or maybe it is my sound card (it's a SoundMax on-board chipset). Setting the number of samples to 128 leads to the drum sounds being completely distorted. I've set the sound card to have 8 buffers of 256 samples each at 44 kHz which leads to a delay of 46 ms. I've tried using EZd and BFD through reaper although there is a noticeable delay. I guess directx can handle this, although I'm wondering if there would be a big impact on latency?Īnyway, probably some strange questions I know, but I'd really love to hear anyone's advice. The backing track from dtxmania would then have to be mixed with the sounds coming out of Ezdrummer. My guess is that I'd have to use midi yoke or something similar to hook up the MIDI output from the TD-3 to the input of both the dtxmania software AND the input of Ezdrummer. I was thinking it would be nice to use Ezdrummer to replace the sounds from the TD-3. I'm wondering, if I go out and buy a better soundcard, such as the m-audio audiophile 2496 which supposedly has zero-latency monitoring, will it solve my problem, given that I'll probably be running the 2496 through directx drivers?Ĭurrently I'm using the sound module of my TD-3 to generate the drum sounds and mixing these together with the output from my soundcard. I went out and bought a soundblaster audigy which was a big mistake!!! The latency is actually worse than the on-board card and as a result I never use it. I'm currently using the on-board soundcard. I'm using the Roland Edirol UM-1EX USB MIDI interface which supposedly has a low latency when the supplied drivers are used so I don't think that should be the problem. However unfortunately due to the latency I get the feeling that I'm being rushed by the tablature due to the lag between the video tablature and the audio backing track. The software I'm using is DTXmania which plays a backing track and scrolls some kind of drum tablature down the screen that is synchronized to the backing track. The reason is that some of the software I use doesn't seem to support ASIO (it just uses the default windows drivers) and sometimes I notice a very high latency. I'm wondering if it is possible to get low latency without using ASIO drivers. I'm stoked to find these forums for V-drums owners. ![]()
